Ingen visste hvem hun var, ingen hadde hadde meldt henne savnet. Mysteriet rundt Isdalskvinnen som ble funnet i Bergen i 1970 skulle løses. BBC World Service og NRK gikk sammen om å lage en stor podkastserie om «Isdalskvinnen». Sammen ville de forsøke å løse gåten ved hjelp av lyttere over hele verden.
"Death in Ice Valley" har blitt BBC sin største podcastsuksess noensinne og ble en av Apples mest nedlastede podcaster i 2018. Under "Online media Award" i 2019 ble den kåret til "Podcast of the Year" og fikk prisen for "best use of crowdsourcing" ved å bruke sosiale nettverk som metode.
